As the golden sun, Kinich Ahau, descends below the western horizon, he sheds his radiant skin to become the Jaguar God of the Underworld. In the pitch-black depths of Xibalba, his spotted coat mimics the starry heavens, allowing him to stalk through the realm of the dead. He must navigate the nine levels of darkness, outwitting the skeletal Lords of Death who seek to extinguish his flame forever. With a roar that echoes like thunder, he leaps through the portals of night, fighting the cold shadows and avoiding the traps set by the lords of the abyss. Only by surviving these trials can he reach the eastern gate at dawn. By conquering the darkness of the underworld, he is reborn each morning, transforming back into the burning sun to provide life and warmth to the world once more.
True strength is found in the ability to face one's darkest trials and emerge reborn with a spirit that cannot be extinguished.
