The Kangaroo and the Zebra

A kangaroo was hopping awkwardly along, a bulky object concealed in her pouch. As she moved, she encountered a zebra. Eager to keep the zebra's attention on herself, she said, "Your costume looks as if you might have just come out of the penitentiary."

The zebra smiled, confident in his own wit, and replied, "Appearances are deceitful, or I would have to think that you had just come out of the Legislature."
